Q: What operating systems does CytoPaint Classic for Windows run on?
A: CytoPaint Classic has been tested on Windows® XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista Service Pack 2, and Windows 7.

Q: Does CytoPaint Classic for Windows run on Windows 7 and 8?
Yes, the software has been tested with several different versions of Windows 7. We have done only limited testing with Windows 8 and 8.1 and have not found any problems. We do offer a free 30-day evaluation period so that you can confirm the application works as expected on your particular version of Windows.

Q: Can I get a demo version of CytoPaint Classic for Windows?
A: You can evaluate CytoPaint Classic in “enhanced” demonstration mode for 30 days without a hardware security module (dongle). In enhanced demo mode you can analyze any FCS file, but printing functions are limited to the FCS files installed with the tutorials. After 30 days CytoPaint Classic can continue to run without a dongle in “restricted” demonstration mode. In restricted mode you can only analyze the FCS files installed with the CytoPaint tutorials. You will need to purchase a security dongle to continue using CytoPaint Classic without restrictions. You can download the installer application here.

Q: Is CytoPaint Classic for Windows available for purchase?
A: Yes! Version 1.1 is now available for purchase direct from Leukobyte. The list price of CytoPaint Classic for Windows is $2500 USD. You can order CytoPaint Classic for Windows by clicking here.

Q: What is your return policy?
CytoPaint Classic for Windows can be downloaded and used free of charge for 30 days, with virtually no restrictions before you will be required to purchase a hardware security module (dongle). We encourage you to evaluate the software to assure that it meets your needs prior to making your purchase. We do not offer refunds once we have shipped your security dongle(s).

Q: Is there a version of CytoPaint Classic for Mac OS X?
A: We are currently evaluating the possibility for a Mac release. Please let us know if this is something you would be interested in.

Q: We are presently using the old PowerPC version of BD Paint-A-Gate™ Pro for Macintosh software to perform our analysis. It doesn’t run on current Intel-based Macs and we need to replace our PowerPC’s. Can you help?
A: YES WE CAN! CytoPaint Classic for Windows has been designed to be a direct replacement for the PowerPC version of Paint-A-Gate Pro for Macintosh. With very few exceptions the User Interface is identical, including all of the menu commands and shortcuts. There should be virtually no learning curve when switching to CytoPaint Classic if you are an experienced Paint-A-Gate™ Macintosh user.

Leukobyte’s engineers designed and wrote both the HP (Paint-A-Gate™ PLUS) and Mac (Paint-A-Gate™ PRO) versions of P-A-G, so you can be assured that we understand how the program should work.

Q: Can CytoPaint Classic read PAGSet Documents from the old PowerPC version of Paint-A-Gate Pro?
A: Yes, with some limitations. The printing environment in Windows is substantially different than the facilities that existed in the “Classic” Macintosh operating systems (Systems 7, 8 & 9). For this reason any printing setup contained in a legacy PAGSet Document will need to be redone. Also, plot windows may not open in exactly the same locations as before.

Q: Does CytoPaint Classic only read FCS files from BD® cytometers?
A: No, we also support FCS files from other instruments. Please contact us if CytoPaint Classic has trouble opening your particular FCS file. We are committed to supporting as many instruments as possible.
